CARZALIA VALLEY PRODUCE KICKS OFF SEASON FOCUSED ON PRODUCE SAFETY
Columbus, NM - Carzalia Valley Produce, home of the Carzalia Sweet onion, designed and implemented a food safety program complete with the successful launch of the new web based eProduce traceability and inventory control program designed by The Next Version, LLC.
Our priority is our consumer and we want them to know we are thinking about their safety every moment we are growing, packing and shipping our produce, James Johnson, vice president of Carzalia Valley Produce. With so much focus being placed on food safety and traceability it was only logical for Carzalia Valley Produce to take the next step to design and implement a food safety program. This program consists of installing eProduce, hiring a full-time safety inspector to oversee Carzalias efforts to implement and follow all Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) standards, and have independent audits of all facilities, application registries, and fields.
eProduce was designed by The Next Version, LLC and is capable of tracing any of our products within minutes with details of events that occurred within the field, packing shed, and transportation. With eProduce we will be able to identify the product by a simple lot number on each package. These numbers will identify the seed, field, irrigation and fertilizer schedule, packing options, date it was loaded and the transportation company. These details are essential to insuring our produce is safe. eProduce will also identify our top priorities as to our order status, back ordered product, truck loading and departing times, and have reassurance that the truck was loaded with the correct products, said James.
The Next Version, LLC completed extensive research to learn how the produce business operates and to understand the proper flow of product, from the field to the retail shelves. This real time web-base program is accessible from any web server in the world and is available to other companies. Additional information can be found at hppt:://www.eproduce.thenextversion.com.
